Love hiking? Obsessed with a good view? Ready to learn how to actually capture it?
This isn’t just a weekend of pretty hikes and fall colors (though you’ll get both). It’s a retreat designed for women who love the outdoors—and are curious about adventure photography and content creation, even if they’ve never tried it before.
We’ll hike Shenandoah’s most scenic trails during peak fall foliage, chase golden hour light, and dive into the art of outdoor photography. Whether you’re bringing your digital camera or just starting out with your iPhone, this retreat will help you get that camera off auto and into creative mode.
You’ll learn how to compose better shots, shoot more intentional video, and capture those amazing views that are too pretty to put into words.
Want to take it further? Stay for the optional Content Creator Add-On Day—a bonus 24 hours focused on coaching, reels, editing, and building your skills as a creator.

Common Questions
Do I have to be a content creator or photographer to come? Absolutely not! Many of the women that come on my trips and hikes are just there for the views and a chance to hang out with other awesome women.
Do I need to be “good” at photography to come? Not at all! This retreat is for every level. Whether you’ve never used manual mode or you’re just looking to level up your creative eye, you’ll learn at your own pace in a beautiful setting.
Do I need a fancy camera? Nope. You’re welcome to bring a digital camera (especially if it has manual settings), but you’ll also learn how to take incredible content using just your iPhone. If you are thinking about diving into digital photography and thinking about renting a camera for this trip (yes you can do that!), please reach out to me. I'd be happy to give you suggestions!
What if I’m coming solo? Amazing—most women are! This retreat is designed to help you feel welcomed, inspired, and connected from the moment you arrive.
Will there be bathrooms and showers? Yes. We’re camping at an established group site with bathrooms, water, and basic amenities nearby.
How much hiking will there be? We’ll be doing 1–2 hikes per day, average 3-5 miles moderate difficulty, with plenty of breaks for photos, snacks, and rest. You should be comfortable walking a few miles at a time, but the pace will be casual and group-friendly.
Do I have to camp? Actually no. I get it. You don't need to love sleeping on the ground to love hiking and the outdoors. You are welcome to book and pay for your own lodging with a comfy bed, Big Meadows Lodge has some amazing rooms. All activities and meals will be at the campground and you will be responsible for transporting yourself to and from your own lodging. Retreat cost will be the same.
